HELLO ALL!!! IM BACK FROM MALAYSIA!!! hmm actually i arrrived home 3 nights ago round 9. would have arrived later if not for having to wake up at 7 to drag myself to school everyday. oh wells. but i think 9 is alright la.
This 4 day 3 night malaysia trip was really cool and enjoyable. it really helped me to unwind, relax, get away from reality and rejuvenate myself. oh wells i truly enjoyed myself and it was a well-spent few days with my family and only with my family. talking about family bonding huh.
it was really a learning experience for me esp in cameron highlands. it was my first time there. i personally got very close to nature and experienced all the cultivation and farming and what not. (good education trip for my geog. reminds me of daryl and his mrs pang)i actually got too see the farmer harvesting the cabbage and all and the whole huge plantation. yeah so its kinda cool to get away from all the hustle and bustle of modern city life and adopt a laid-back and relax lifestyle, away from all the civilisations. just absolutely envy the ppl's stress-free lifestyle there. all they do is farm and open up stalls in the market to sell their food stuff. so i visited loads of farms, strawberry (they're like super famous for that. its damn sweet and nice) and 2 huge tea plantations (they're also known for that). i tell you, the whole place is so huge, its like never ending mountain after mountain, plantation after plantation. haha and so i thought i'd better settle my presents there so there i can shop peacefully in kl. so i bought everyone tea. haha. there's Cameron Valley Tea and Boh Tea. my favourite is the Cameron Valley one but Boh isnt too bad either. just loved tea la.
and i bought back loads of veges and greens too. its super duper cheap and fresh and big and worth the ringgit. haha. its like the price that we pay for the veges in spore is like at least 3 times that of in cameron highlands. and even so its not as fresh and worth it. cos its like grown there so all the greens are in abundance and all the stalls in the market are selling greens. ranging from all types of cherry tomatoes, cabbage, lettuce, corn, sweet potatoes and lots of other fruits and all. so my mum being MY MUM bought quite a lot of veges, hoping it would last back to spore! and it did! we're still eating them for dinner everyday. and there's still alot left in the fridge. and the hydroponics lettuce are super cheap too! local ntuc sells like one bowl ready-made for like $5 plus. over there, we could choose 6 big bags fresh lettuce (butterhead, green coral, purple coral etc) for only $10 ringgit. so of cos we grabbed. and it was super fresh. that was our dinner that night. :)
and my gosh how i love the chilly weather there!! its like highest 21 degrees in the day and abt avearge 17-16 degress in the night! yeah so it so cooling with the chilly wind and all. unlike hot and humid spore. so i enjoyed 2 days of cooling weather there, carrying a light sweater around in case it got too cold. On the 2nd night, after we had veges for dinner. i was still a lil hungry. so i suggested driving down the winding road to the town to buy food and visit the night market. since we'd all bathed, my sis and i wore our sleeping clothes. which was a thin t-shirt and fbt shorts for me. (the super hott short and thin shorts). and of cos we brought along our sweater. (must be nuts not to bring). so then we were already in the car when mommy blurted out "oh no! my jacket is not in the car!" and we were already halfway down the hill. so being the loving son, i gave mommy my sweater and i decided to brave the chilly 16 degrees with the little cloth on my body. haha its a once in a lifetime experience ok. haha yeah intially it was freezing my legs were freaking numb and my heart was liteally shivering. but after a while i got used to the chilliness. but what was interesting was that sister and i acttracted many stares from everyone as no one wore such micro hott shorts and with only a thin t-shirt. even the locals wore long pants and at least a light jacket. haha yeah so we were totally enjoying all the attention we were receiving as we strolled down the streets. haha. :)
just dont stay in hotel Equatoral (did i spell it correctly). yeah my hotel room had like 6 lightings and electric appliances spoiled. daddy accidentally switched on a switch and that tripped everything. so the hotel had to send some guy to repair the telephone and what not and that wasted us 1-2 hours. how horrbile. tsk. and mommy found a snail garden snail in char kway teow at the buffet breakfast. and all the staff did was to apologise when we complained. how hygeneic can they get man. tsk tsk. horrible horrible.
yeah so moving on to the 3rd day. we left cameron highlands in the morning at 10 plus and left for kl! much to sister's delight. haha she said she couldnt stand anymore of this rural stuff and seeing strawberries and veges every moment. once we arrived there at 3 plus. we checked into the Hotel Istana. the hotel was awesome and gorgeous! i think its 5 star or sth. dont know how my parents managed to get such a cheap rate. so we lazed around and rested and set off for shopping at 5! chionged straight in FOS and i bought like only 2 tops and 2 bottoms from FOS. i couldnt care less and just bought what seemed appealing to me. it was the only shopped which we managed to spent 2 hours for good solid shopping there. after that we had dinner at sushi tei and walked around the whole kl town area. couldnt really shopped too due to really tight time constraint and daddy was rushing us from place to place.
and the next morning, after breakfast in the hotel (the spread and food was fabulous btw), it was already 10 40 and we had to check out by 12 noon. but we decided to talk a walk and have a look at the gym and spa and whatever facilities. little did we know that the gym was so freaking cool and high class with such a wide range of high-tech gym facilities. and the jacuzzi (they called it 'whirlpool') looked so shiok too. so being the crazy family, we decided to take a dip in the 'whirlpool', but we had to be real fast to check up by 12 noon. so we dashed back to our room to change and within 10 min, we were soaking ourselves in the 'whirlpool' and it has a sign "No nude bathing please!" oh please who would want to nude bathe there. haha after whirlpool since there was still 5 min left, i dashed into the steam room perspired all the fats out. haha. then we dashed up to our room and poof! we checked out by 12 sharp!
on the way back, we stopped by at jb to visit my nun aunt and she brought us to this giant shopping centre (as big or bigger than vivocity). its called tebrau city. the place there is called tebrau. that huge gigantic shopping centre has everything there. really everything. from Giant supermarket to up-market boutiques like levis' dorothy perkins and what not. it kinda appeals to sporeans as its juts like 20 min drive from spore. so we had dinner there and i bought one last quiksilver tee before leaving for home.
HOME SWEET HOME. i reached home at abt 9.
i promise pictures very very very soon. :)
so this kinda summarises my trip to malaysia. if you ask me, i dont mind going to cameron highlands again. and if have not already been there, you must go there soon okay! totally love the weather and its a lovely eduacational trip. might be going to malaysia on the fourth week of the hols again. so what if prelims are on the first week of school? i'll just study in the car. like how i studied for macbeth on this trip :D
